The Kakapo is the only flightless nocturnal parrot in the world. It is also the rarest and heaviest and it lives right here in the South Island of New Zealand.

Weight: 2-4 kgs
Life Span: 60 years
Diet: Native plants, seeds, fruit and roots.
Habitat: Maud, Chalky, Codfish and Anchor Islands (NZ)
Number Remaining: only 86!
